Community Service Event - October 6th

We are excited to announce our first community service event. On October 6th, our school will participate in a “One Day” serve-a-thon to kick off our year of service. Each class will be creating a care package that will be sent to our troops who are serving overseas. We are reaching out to our parents and community to donate items for these special care packages. Please send your donations into school by Friday, October 3rd. Our hope is to send these care packages to P.S. 132 family members and friends who are currently serving in the military. Through this project we know that our children will gain a deep understanding of how community service affects our society and the world.
Thank you in advance for all of your support and donations.

Literacy Compacting has Begun!

Literacy Compacting has begun for our second and third grade students this week. Students were assessed through running records and comprehension assessments. Each child was then placed into the appropriate literacy group based on their reading levels. Students will receive two periods of literacy instruction daily. If you would like to learn more about this incredible program, please join us on Friday, September 19th at 9:00 a.m.

Thank you,
Mrs. Santoro
