I wanted to provide an update regarding our one day serv-a-thon. We are happy to announce that our packages have been shipped. After researching various delivery options, we located a post office branch that has been a tremendous help to us. A warm thank you goes out to The United States Post Office-Dyker Heights Branch. The incredible staff at the Dyker Heights branch has offered to ship our packages free of charge. The workers organize fundraisers to assist in raising finances necessary to cover shipping charges for packages sent overseas to our soldiers.
I am also thrilled to report that one of the soldiers, Carlos Santos received his care packages. We received a letter from his family expressing his gratitude and joy. It is a wonderful to know that we have made a difference in the life of a soldier serving our country.
