Kids Collect at City Reliquary

In the Fall of 2008, the City Reliquary embarked on an ambitious project with our school through a grant from Councilmember Diana Reyna. The City Reliquary's Inspector Collector, Harley Spiller visited our 5th-grade classrooms and worked with the students and their teachers, to build collections of cool stuff mostly related to New York City. Each child turned a cardboard box into a "reliquary" and gathered small objects that told their stories. These student-made mini-museums of objects near and dear to their hearts will be on view to the public for one month at City Reliquary. Opening Reception will be on Wednesday, December 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The reliquaries will be on exhibit every Saturday and Sunday until January 11th. The City Reliquary is located at 370 Metropolitan Avenue near Havemeyer Street.
